LOOK OUT FOR THE *1 Tt ! s TO-DAY

Subject Changes on SIX CYLINDER ItIICK Models for 1918 i These changes are mostly in the direction of refinement, improved finish, and also to take care of the few mechanical troubles that we liavo had during the last year. The New Six Cyliuder Cats will be kuown as “ EX-44 ” for the Roadsters, and “ Ex-45 ’’ for the Touring Cars. The Touring Car will have a five passenger body and will be a larger car with only a slight increase in weight. The principal changes are as follows : 1— TfTb motor will be a inch bore or |of an inch larger in diameter of ' the cylinder and with larger inlet valves increasing the power of the motor about twelve horse power. 2 The cooling surface of the radiator has been increased, the radiator being 14 inches higher and 4 inch wider. 3 The shape of the cowl and engine bonnet has been changed so as to give a tfiore gradual curve betweeu the bonnet aud the body. 4 The wiucl shield will be ou an angle to conform to the later designs. 5 The top will bo altered to fit the now type wind shield but will be of the same material as u~ed during the present season. 6 Wheel base is 3 inches longer than on the EX-45 cars, which will permit of an additional 3 inches in the tonneau, giving more comfortable seating arrangement, aud also permitting the doors to be full width from the bottom to the top. 7 The rims will be the usual clincher type ; the joint will be straight across instead of on an angle. The joints will also bo tight so that there will be no rim squeaking at this point. A suitable rim tool will also be provided. S--Timken roller bearings will be used ou the front wheels instead of the present cup and cone type. Timken bearings are recognised as the best bearing for the road shocks and side thrusts to which the front wheels are subjected. , 9—Tbo band control lever for shifting gears has beeu improved, aud we will be able to give you a satisfactory gear shift, the location of which will be as at present on the light hand ot the driver. 10— New foot pedals have been provided ofimproved design. 11— The clutch will be of the dry plate multiple disc type. It is to be an improvement over the present cone clutch, as the new type is recognised as the most satisfactory form. The operation of this clutch is particularly fine. 12— Upholstery will be of the French pleated type with no exposed buttons 13— The seats will be mere comfortable, being more at an angle. 14— Actumulator will be larger aud of the unfilled type. Among the minor improvements will be improved brake lever of very attractive design. A laige substantial foot rest covered with carpet to match the tonneau eaipct. The speedometer will bo a new type with larger numerals so that the reading of the instrument can be easily seen. Leather guards will be provided for the doors, and also door hinges on the rear doors will be so designed as to permit the door being opened aud still retain horizontal position. The water circulation on the motor will be more direct with larger connections. Horn will be attached to clash. OwiDg to the uncertain conditions prevailing in the material market, our factories have fouud it exocediugly difficult to contract for many of the principal items entering into the manufacture of their product. This has delayed fixing prices for next season. Beyond stating that prices will be increased we are not at this writing in a position to say though we hope cable price announcements in about a fortnight.
