BELGIAN RELIEF FUND
To the Editor Sir, —I have been looking through of your editions* of late) and looked in vain for theTe Aroha monthly list of donations to be made to the Belgians. Atrthe public meet-* ing held to raise monthly subscriptions for the Belgians till the end of war, I one put my name down for 10s and have paid one sub (and I think another is due) to the two ladies who called, I suppose on somebody’s authority. Now why are these amounts not acknowledged through the papers as they should have been ? In all fairness to the ladies every subscription should be published for everybody likes to-see how their money is dealt with. Is it because peihaps a few of the “ knuts ” or so called “ elite ” have their names down for Is monthly when they could well afford 10s monthly that the amounts are not published. Hoping this matter will be ventilated thoroughly. I am etc, ! “TEN SHILLINGS ”
