(Before H. W. Noithcroft, Esq., R.M.) Duunkenness : Thos. O'Donnell was charged with being drunk in Whitakerstreefc on the 17th insfc. Dismissed with a caution. Inspector of Nuisances v. Frederick Strange. Tliis was a charge of titling on the footpath in Konrick street. Defendant pleaded guilty. Discharged with a caution. Same v. Percy Johnson. Unlawfully and furiously riding in Whitaker street, on the lVoh inst. Defendant pleaded not guilty.* After hearing evidence, His Worship dismissed the charge, at the same time stating that Johnson was much to blame for his careless conduct. William ' Kethrington v. J. M Chambers. No appearance of defendant. Plaintiff stated the defendant owed him £61 2s, for carting on terms agreed to. Judgment for plaintiff by default for amount claimed- with costs, £2 Is. Elizabeth Brothers v, Harriet Voyaey, Ofaiin £-4 for professional attendance during oonfihethent. Mr MacGregor Hay appeared for the plaintiff. NonsniteJ. Ohas. Norris v. A. Gabolincey. An action to recover, an order on a Mr Collett for £20 Us in the possession of defendant, and for costs incidental to the case. Mr MacGregor Hay appeared for the plaintiff. The order had been given to defendant to collect money to be sent to plaintiff Li ch field, but defendant failed to do so, and would not give the order up when demanded on the 29th of July, The defendant stated he retained the order as he was owed by plaintiff several sums amounting to Ll3 Is 6d. He had not received any money on it. His Worship awarded L 6 for damages and LiB 8s costs, the defendant to v return the order. G. Lovegrove (junr) v. Win. J. Thompson. Claim for wages due for work at flaxmill. Plaintiff stated he worked five days scutching flax in a contract at 16s 3d per ton. Defendant stated that Lovearove had broken an agreement to the effect that he should, stay a fortnight, and after that to give a week's notice before leaving. Judgment for plaintiff," LI Bs, and lfisßd costs.
