Imprisonment of Father Ryan

Father Ryan of the Herbertown branch of the National League presented himself today before Justico Bord of the Bankruptcy Court. He persisted in his refusal to tell the Court what he knew about the doings of the tenants in his parish respecting the payment of their rents under the plan of camjwign, and was condemned to prison. When Father Ryan emerged from the court as a prisoner he was met by a mnltitude of citizens. They numbered many thousands and they cheered the priest with enthusiastic and prolonged applause and then followed him in a procession feo the gaol, making his tour a triumphal one. A number of prominent men took part in this procession and among the more conspicuous were Lord Mayor Sullivan and Archbishop Croke.
