INSPECTOR O'SULLIVAN AND THE HOARD OF EDUCATION. Aucki.anl, Last Night. Mr O'SulJivan, Inspector of Schools, in his annual report made «i strong attack on the administration system in tho Auckland district, which he said was not improving. Ho complains of the dismissal of teachers without consultation with him, and attacks the Secretary for ignoring his wishes and authority in such matters. The report provoked a sultry discussion at the Board meeting to-day, resulting in a resolution being carried referring it back to the Inspector to strike out the objectionable allusions to his brother officials in the report submitted. A meeting of the Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association shews it to be in a bad way. The concern is £320 in debl, and the annual subscriptions will not pay interest.
BODY FOUND. The body of Thomas Insoll, contractor, has been found 'floating in the harbour. The Earl and Countess of Aberdeen left for tho Hot Lakes by train to-day. They will remain overnight at Oxford, and stay a week at Lake House, Rotorua.
The Sharemarket remains very quiet. Buyers : Saxons, at 2s. Sales : Cambria, 4s. Sellers : Prince Imperial, 3s 3d.,
SHIPWRECK. ,' Nailer, Last Night. Tho schooner, Eetard, bound from Oamaru to Auckland, went ashore at 6.30 p.m. on Tuesday, 20 miles from Mahia, near Portland Island, and broke into pieces immediately. William Andrews, the master, John Sweeney, seaman, and tho cook (name unknown), were drowned.
