SOIREE AND DANCE.
On Thursday evening last an entertainment styled the " Inauguration Soiree of the United Association of Te Aroha Hotel Employes," was held in tho Te Aroha Public Hall. The hall for the occasion was very tastefully decorated with evergreens, banners, etc., and lit up with chincsc lanterns, (many of them being exceedingly pretty), the general effect was very pleasing. Across the full width of the stage was a banner bearing the inscription in large letters, Welcome. The first part of the entertainment consisted of a concert lasting from 8.30 until 10.30 ; the singers, etc., being all local residents. There was a very crowded attendance, and tho arrongements were admirable. Dancing commenced at 11 and was kept up with spirit till -i a.m. Supper was laid out on the stage, screened off for the purpose, and in addition to the more substantial viands, included many varieties of fruit, etc. hi fact no expense appeared to have been spared in getting up the affair, admission being by caid of invitation.
