Champion Lodes.—Mr P. Quinlan, contractor, has for some dsys past, had several teams employed in sledging and carting down quartz, from No. 3 claim, intended for shipment to the old -country, from Auckland. At present the quartz is being stacked alongside the railway fence, near the Chinaman's garden, as permission has not jet been obtainod from the authorities, to enter on the station grounds, from this side; although there can be little doubt of the permission being granted, as by carting the quaitz to this end of the station ground, much cutting up of the public approach road to the station will be avoided, and the quartz can be laid down o t n the bank adjoining the line and loaded direct on to the trucks. Surprise Claims.—Mr P. Quinlan, is also carting down a trial parcel from these claims of carbonato ef lead, for tieament in Auckland.
