January 1, 1917. —Dance, Mataroa, Mataroa Rosebud; January 25, sale of work and dance, Utiku, Utiku Rosebud; January 5, 12, 19, and 26.—Euchre party and dance, Railway Social Hall, Railway Rosebud.
Secretaries of candidates are requested to notify the organisers of any event in aid of their candidates. P.O. box 53, or telephones 52 or 197. The organisers are issuing to all candidates cards for a watch-guessing competition. Guesses will be Id each and the 'winner will receive a £lO lady's or gent's gold watch.
Good business has been done so far by all candidates, and all are hopeful of winning. The influx of visitors to town on Saturday was taken advantage of by the supporters of many candidates, and good results were obtained from the sale of art union tickets and picture theatre tickets.
