HIGH COMFISSIONER'S REPORT. ■WELLINGTON, Oct. i. The High Commissioner's report, dated London 30th, is as follows: Meat—There is less demand for all descriptions of frozen meat owing to large supplies of Home killed mutton and Scotch lamb, which is selling :it comparatively low prices; New Z'-a-land mutton prices are lower, 8 3/i>d, ewe mutton, 8d; Argentine mutton, 7ild; home killed ewe mutton Thd to 7§d; New Zealand lamb 9Jd; Argentine lamb 7 7/8d; Scotch lamb 10 1; Argentine chilled beef, hinds 9d, fores 7d. Butter —Market continues firm owing to continued small supplies; demand likely to decrease, stocks hi cold stores very light and declining rapidly for buyers until arrival of new season's make of colonial butters. Danish salted 204 s to 210 s; Irish creamery, salted 194 s to 19s, unsalted 196 s to 198 s; exceptional 200 s; Ne* Zealand, salted 190 s, unsalted 1925; Argentine unsalted 1945; American creamery, salted 184 s to 186 s. Cheese—Market firmer; prices have a hardening tendency. There is a fair demand. Canadian white 107 sto 108 s; coloured 107 s to 108 s; New Zealand, wiite 106 s to 108 s; coloured 106 s to 108 s; English cheddar, 118 s to 1225.
Hemp—Firm market, especially for best quality New Zealand, supply or ■which is running short. Good fair New Zealand, per ton, £SO, fair £4B; Government graded fair Manila £52; coarse £49; October-December shipment good fair New Zealand £49 10s; fair £ 47. Output of hemp from Manila for week ending last Saturday 16,000 bales. Wheat—Market firm with> demand moderate; Canadian arrived 66s 6d; October-November 655.
Oats—Steady market, but inactive New Zealand ex store 33s 6d. Wool—Strong market.
