WASTED FORTUNE.
How a young motor engineer went through a fortune of £8598 in 18 months, was told at the Scarborough Bankruptcy Court when Claude Algernon Adamson, of Bridlington, appeared for his public examination. Debtor stated that he came of age in July, 1913, and thereupon borrowed £6OO from a moneylender in anticipa-* ♦ion of a fortune which he inherited nnder his father's will amounting to £8598. This he received in November, 1913, and he paid the moneylender £9OO. It was true that he managed to get fid of the whole of his fortune in 18 months. He got through the money in expensive living and general extravariee. He estimated that he spent £1463 entertaining friends to dinners, theatres, etc., £3OO for dresses and millinery, and £IOO for hotel meals whilst touring. He bought nfne motor-cars and sold them all at a big loss. He now goU £1 unemployment pay. The examination was closed.
