TO-DAY'S CASES. Messrs W. H. Cooper and F. H. Christian, J.P.'s, presided at the Police Court this morning: Urunkcnnese.Two male first offenders for drunkenness were eajch fined 5/-, In default 21 hours' imprisonment. John Lnwson, a third offender, was fined 20A, in default seven days' imprisonment. Robert Cicgkprn, a fifth offender, received a deterrent invthe shape of seven days' imprisonment. An Incorrigible Rogue.—Frances Curry, alias Jones, was charged with being an incorrigible rogue within the meaning of the Police Offences Act, 1908, in that she hnd no lawful visible means of support, having been previously convicted as a rogue and vagabond. She was committed to the Mount Mngdala Home for six months. LYTTELTON. Messrs F. G. Norton and F. Kuights, J.P.'s, presided at a sitting of the .Magistrate's Court to-day at Lyttclton. Enforcing an Argument.—A drunken argument in front of the Post Office yesterday led to the appearance of Patrick Pryor, who was charged with assaulting Thomas Balmer. It was, stated that Bulmcr, who was knocked down by the accused, had been rendered unconscious through his head striking the pavement. Medical • attention was necessary. The accused was fined £l, nnd-ordcred to pay medical expenses, £1 1/-, in default 21 days 1 imprisonment. Drunk and Noisy.—A fine of £2, in default 14 days' imprisomncnt, on Richard McEvoy, for using obscene language. He was convicted and discharged on a charge or drunkenness. > ■ Drunkenness.—Henry Andrcsscn and Thomas Sinclair, who had been dealt with the previous week for drunkenness, were remanded for a week on further charges. Three first offending inebriates were lined 5/-, with the usual alternative.
