FIRE IN CHEMICAL WORKS. DUNEDIN, December 28. A fire discovered at 1.30 a.m. in Kempthorne, Prosser 's chemical works at Bumside. Firemen were dispatched from the city. The fire had a good hold in the top story of the building, which is used for the manufacture of manure. 'Die outbreak was confined to this building. After lighting the flames for three hours, the firemen were successful in suppressing them, a splendid save being effected. A fireman, Charles Ingram, was injured on the head and ■face, and was taken to hospital. The damage is estimated at under £1J)00.
