. An interesting lecture on "The N.Z.E.F. in France, Belgium and Germany" was delivered-iu the Y.M.C.A. last evening by Padre W. B. Scott. A number of excellent lantern .slides illustrated tlio talk, which dealt with the subject in an amusing and entertaining manner. Yesterday afternoon, in the Magistrate's Court, before Mr fcS. E. McCarthy, S.M., George Parris (Mr M. J. Gresson) was proceeded against for the maintenance of a child of which he was alleged to bo the father. Mr W. J. Hunter appeared for complainant, who was tho sister-in-law of defendant. A feature of the case was a compromising document alleged to have been written by defendant's wife. She denied the authorship of the document, and ' defendant said he could hardly "scratch" his own name. After both the women concerned were put to a writing test, the Magistrato pointod out the similarity between complainant's writing and that of tho document. The information was dismissed, with costs, leave being granted for an appeal. If there is anything that you want to buy, sell or exchange, advertise it in The Sun. Twelve words for 6d.
