WEDDING.

A very pretty and interesting wedding was celebrated at St. Barnabas's Church, Fendalton, yesterday afternoon, the vicar, the Rev. IT. Leach, and the Rev. Archdeacon Haggitt being the officiating clergymen. The bridegroom was Mr George Vincent Gerard, eldest son of Mr and Mrs George Gerard, of Suowdon, and the bride Miss Elizabeth Mary (Hetty) Buckley, only daughter of Mr and Mis E. C. Buckley, Naseby Street, Merivale. The church was beautifully decorated for the occasion, quantities of arum lilies' being used. The service was fully choral. Th», bride, who was escorted to (he altar by her brother, Mr VV. K. Buckley, wore a lovely- gown of ivory satin and georgette, the court train being lined with pale pink georgette. Her veil was of beautiful Limerick lace, arranged in mob cap effect with a slender circlet of orange blossoms.' An exquisite bouquet of hothouse flowers was carried, and she wove the gift of the bridegroom's parents, a diamond pendant, and the bridegroom's gift, a gold wristlet watch.

There were three bridesmaids, Miss Muriehjßoyds and Miss Brenda Kissling, both of Christchurch, and the little sister of the bridegroom, Miss Deirise Gerard. The last-named wore pale pink georgette and hat to match, while the-two elder girls were frocked most gracefully in heliotrope georgette, with touches of islver, and hats of heliotrope tulle and silver, and hats of heliotrope tulle and pale pink flowers. Their bouquets were of pale pink geraniums. Mr Arthur Wallace, of Dunediu, and Mr Gerald Gerard (brother of the bridegroom) accompanied the bridegroom as best man and groomsman respectively. After the wedding ceremony a large gathering of friends and relatives met at "Blair Athol," the residence of Mr and .Mrs George Murray-Aynsley, Mrs Murray-Aynsley beingMhe bridegroom's aunt. A wedding repast was served in a marquee on the lawn. Afterwards the bride and bridegroom left on their wedding tour. The bride travelled in a stylish navy gaberdine, smartly braided, and worn with a pretty little wedgwoodblue toque with a touch of scarlet. Mrs Buckley (mother of the bride? wore a navy blue costume, braided with narrow silver braid, with a hat of the new shiny straw in black, trimmed with pale pink "roses. Her bouquet was of pink blossoms. Mrs Gerard (mother of the bridegroom) wore a very handsome, grey satin, aud heliotrope hat, and she carried a beautiful heliotrope bouquet. Mrs G. Murray-Aynsley was in plum-coloured satin and georgette, with a floral toque; Miss Gerard (another aunt of the bridegroom) was also in plum-coloured satin, with a black hat, while her sister, Miss Rose Gerard, chose powder-blue," with a toque in the same-shade.
