RACING AT RICCARTON. NATIONAL HURDLES DAY. Despite the chilly weather conditions, there was an immense crowd at Riccnrton to witness the second day's racing of the Canterbury Jockey Club's Grand National Meeting. The course, though still heavy, provided nice going, especially for the jumpers, while the racing was just as interesting as that witnessed on the opening day. Speculation was more brisk than usual, the sum of £72,528 being invested, as against £51,G80 on the second day last year.
