TROTTING AT ADDINGTON. There was a huge crowd at Addington yesterday, when the August meeting of the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club advanced another stage. Though still on the slow side, the track turned out in greatly Improved order, getting faster with every race. The racing was of a particularly high standard, desplto the track conditions. Betting was very heavy, the fine sum of £59,469 being invested ns against £50,939 on the corresponding day last year. Silver Nut raced to the front two furlongs from the post and won all out by a length from Sympathy. Three lengths back came Asturio, followed by Master Hal, Irvar and Paul Dufault. Trix Pointer took charge at the home turn, but failed to stall off a late run by Moneymaker, who won by half n length. Mintson was third three lengths back, followed by Maoriland. Times: 2min 52§sec, 2min 49sec and 2min 53Jsec.
