THE JUMPING CARNIVAL.
NATIONAL HURDLES DAY. TO-MORROWS CARD. The winter carnival will advance another stage to-morrow, when there is every prospect of a high-class afternoon's sport. Most of the horses that sported silk yesterday will again be included in the fields, all of which are well up to the standard of former years. Most interest will be centred in the decision of the Grand Nationa-1 Hurdle Race, the result of which is particularly open. As a result of his success in the Jumpers' Flat Race yesterday Kauri King has come into increased favour, and he can be relied on to put up a great fight. Of those above him in the handicap Lochella may prove the best, while Paraoa should be benefited by his ■race yesterday. Gaylight and Kohu may both be troubled by the length of the journey. Lower down the list Ladoguev and All Talk read best but they will be up against a tough proposition in Kauri King who has never been in better racing trim. There will be the usual tram and train arrangements and visitors will again be enabled to leave the course soon after 4.15 p.m. The day's card is as follows:—■ 11 a.m. WOOLSTON HANDICAP, of 200 sows.
