STOCK MARKETS,

ASHBURTON. There was a small attendance nt the stock sale held nt the Ashburton yards to-day. The fat sheep comprised 88 wethers and 35 ewes. Sales were: Wethers, 13 .'to'-, 44 32/(5, 2 25/-; ewes, 5 .'Hi/-, 11 and 1 35 -, and down to 22/6. There was a fair yarding of store sheep, but the hulk of these were passed. The only sales effected were: 192 two-tooth crossbred wethers 2(1/3, 27 ewes and wethers 24/3, 23 two-tooth .crossbred ewes and 111 lambs 18/3, 13 merino ewes I/-. Twenty-one head of eattle were offered, the whole of the stores being passed. Fats were a very ordinary lot. Prices were: Steers, one eaeli £ls, 114 10/-, £l2 15/-. £11; cows, one each £l4 7/(i, £l3 15/-; heifer £'9 10/-. RANGIORA. The yarding of fats at the Rangiora market this morning totalled Kifi, being 111 ewes, live wethers, and 50 lambs. The store sheep offered totalled 1391, The attendance was only fair. The fat sheep sale was a good one, the feature of the market being the sale of 30 lambs by 11. Mntson and Co., on account of Mr * \Y Richards, of Southhrook, at 30/-. This was practically the first line offered this season, and no doubt if they had been held over till next week, when the freezing works were open, would have realised considerably more. Following are the sales:— Fat Ewes.- On account of S. Woods, 37 28/1 to 28/ li; Matty Fit/gibbon (Lnburn), 21 2(5/7; F. S. Bowron (Bennetts), 21 22/5 to 25/7; \V. Richards (Southbrook), 20 27/0. Fat Wethers.—On account of E. Leech. 5 211/1.

Fat Lambs.—-On account of W. Richards IK)'3O/-; Matty Kitzglubon, 20 24/10.

Store Sheep.—34 s.ni. ewes and 38 lambs 19/- (all counted), lilt rape lambs 21/1, (Hi aged ewes 19/-, 11 I'our-tooth ewes 28/3, 31 two-tooth wethers 25/5, 89 aged ewes and 9(1 lambs 17/- (ail counted), 117 two and four-tooth wethers 22/0, 109 four and sixtooth wethers 24/1, 98 two, lour, six and eight-tooth ewes 25/10, 111 four and sixtooth wethers 23/1.
