METHODIST WOMEN'S UNION.
MISSIONABY CONFERENCE. Vrmx Attociation. BLENHEIM, November 8. The fifth annual conference of the Methodist Women's Missionary Union, which has just concluded at Blenheim, was under the presidency of Mrs Duke, of Dunedin. The membership was reported to have reached 1400, and reports showed that an increased interest was being taken in the work among the Maori girls and women of the Dominion, and the work of the missionary sisters in the South Sea Islands. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follow:—President, Mrs Penfold (Wellington); secretary, Mrs Newman (Wellington); treasurer. Miss Read (Wellington); corresponding secretarv. Mrs Hills (Palmerston North). The visitors were entertained at a garden party yesterday afternoon.
