The-.weather was fine and bright for the third *»y*s racing of the Victoria Racing Club's.Spring Meeting, and the attendance was a record one. Strathredole won the Mimosa Stakes iu great style In record time for the race. The Kilbroney colt, Peroration, was sixth. Cetignc established an Australian mile record of lmin 37sec in winning the Linlithgow Stakes. Surveyor looked dangerous in the straight, and lost only in the last 100 yards. The last halfmile took 47} sec. Cetignc was fifth before reaching the turn. He has now won £25,032 in stakes. Ethiopian scored his second win of the meeting in the Carnival Handicap, and came very fast from the turn. Hyadcs, in the last half-mile of the Oaks, came through the field at the turn, and won in brilliant style. She was well ridden by Frank Bullock. ELLERSLIE TRAINING NOTES. I Prut Association. AUCKLAND, November 7. The weather was fine for training operations at Ellerslie this morning. Most of the tasks were of the serviceable order. King Lupin went six furlongs on the grass in lmin 17sec, and Rekanul beat TinOkaha over five on the same track in lmin 7sec. Demagogue covered four furlongs on the sand in 52gsec, and Crenides went the same Journey In 4Dsec. Queen Abl>ey was sent four furlongs on the grass, taking 52scc. Lucullan easily beat Yankee Dan over four furlongs on the grass in SOjjsec; a good gallop. Winning Shot bolted on the road, broke a leg, and had to be destroyed, the rider, Crotcher, having an arm broken. SCRATCHINGS. Luperino was scratched for the Hohson Handicap. Haversack and Passing Thro' were scratched for all engagements at 9 o'clock.
