PASSENGER FLIGHTS. fx Justice Herdman, yesterday, made ight in the new Bristol fighting 'plane, with Captain T. H. Don, 8.A.P., as pilot.- Captain Don, after climbing to an altitude of 6000 ft, set his machine in the direction of Mt. Pleasant, fly/ng directly over H.M.S. New Zealand, and returning round the Estuary. Colonel A. V. Bettington, C.M.G., K.A.F., then made a flight with Mr A. Boyle and his young son as passengers, both having an interesting trip. Mr Boyle was very pleased with the view of the Peninsula Bays. The small appearance of H.M.S. New Zealand, as she lay at anchor, was remarked upon by both passengers, and Colonel Bettington pointed out the difficulties of bombing machines,. in . similar circumstances, finding their target. At 4 p.m., Major Brandon took up Captain W. Deans for two or three circuits of the " 'drome." This morning, Colonel Bettington flew over the city, timing his arrival with the commencement of the returned sokliers' parade. All the experts appear greatly pleased with the result of the trials of the new machine.
