WEDDINGS.
A quiet, but pretty, wedding took piste in St. Mary's ChurcO, Merivale, this afternoon, the Ven. Archdeacon P. B. Hsggitt officiating. The bridegroom was Mr Gordon Tweedie, son of Mr and lira Andrew Tweedie, of Cheviot, ami the bride Miss Evelyn Pearee, eldest daughter of Mr and" Mrs W. Pearee, Papanui Road. The bridegroom ami the best man (Mr C. Young) are returned soldiers, and were in khaki. The bride wore s charming gown of ivory crepe de Chine, made with artistic simplicity, sad completed with a wedding veil, wrssth of orange blossoms, and shower bosquet of choice white flowers. Her only bridesmaid was Miss Gladys Fergusoa (Biccarton), a cousin of the bridegroom, who wore a smartly-cut brown costume, brown velour hat, and carried s bouquet of pink flowers. After the ceremony, Mr and Mrs Pearee entertained a party, consisting of immediate friends anil relatives, at a toeeption at their residence, Papanui "' Bosd. Mm Pesrce received her guests is a navy costume and becoming black hat. Later on, Mr Tweedie and his bride left on their welding trip, the bride travelling in a stylish tailored costume of dark blue, with a hat in black with touches of gold. tie wedding took place at Temuka recently of Mr Edward J. Counilian, Gersldine, to Miss Lydia Rhodes Knijjht, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Wm. Knight, Temuka. The ceremony took Siee at the Denmark Street Methodist arch, the Rev. G. P. Hunt, of Geraldine, officiating. Miss Amy Knight aeeoapanied her sister as bridesmaid, snd Mr Eugene Coonihan, brother of the bridegroom, seted as best man.
