ALLENBY GIVES A WARNING. By Calk. — Press Association. — Copyright. (A. & N.Z.) LONDON, April 25. General Allenby has issued an ultimatum that Egytian officials must resume or be dismissed. Those returning will lose their pay for time lost during the strike. Persons obstructing Government work will be -court-martialled.
t The United States, in a Note recognising the British protectorate over Egypt, expresses the sympathy of the President and people with the legitimate aspirations of the Egyptians for a further measure of selfgovernment, but views with regret the efforts to obtain it violently.
