LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
MEETING OF EXECTJTrVE. The executive of the Canterbury Rugby Football League met on Saturday evening, Mr A. E. Hooper presiding. It was decided to commence the fifthgrade competition on May 10. Mr C. B. Hardingham was elected the Hornby representative on the Classification Committee, in place of Mr F. Winter.
It was resolved that any player who returned from active service should be enabled to play on the following Saturday, without giving the usual seven days' registration notice. On the motion of the chairman, it was resolved to draw the attention of referees to the necessity of supplying the secretary with a list of the names of players, with correct initials. I The fixtures, grounds, and referees for I Saturdav next are as follows:—
First Division. —Hornby v. Sydenham, at Sydenham Park, Mr A. Morris. Linwood v. Federal, at St. Albans Park, Mr H. Ormandy. Aldington, a bye.
Second Division.—Federal v. Hornby, at Riecarton Domain, Mr C. Tilleyshort, Linwood v. Woolston, Linwood Park, Mr C. McLachlan; Sydenham v. Addington, Beckenham Park, Mr T. Madden; Avon, a bye. Third Division.—Addington v. Linwood B, South Park, Mr Gaskoll; Avon A v. Woolston. St. Albans Park, Mr C. Eaton; Templeton v. Sydenham, Templetou Domain, Mr H. Falgar; Avon B v. Hornby, Hornby, Mr 11. Dann; Linwood A, a bye. Fourth Division. —Sydenham A v. Sydenham B, Sydenham Park, 1.45 p.m., Mr W. Lyes; Woolston A v. Linwood, Linwood Park. Mr F. Sales; Addington v.
