SCHOOL COMMITTEES.
ST. ALBANS. The monthly meeting of the above committee was held at the school, there being present—Mr E. H. Andrews (chairman), Mrs Ada Fraser, and Messrs F. Cole, S. Faulkner, Macfarlanc, and Ecroyd. A vote of sympathy was passed to the widow of the late Mr Fletcher, who for many years had been a member of the St. Albans Committee, and at one time its chairman, secretary and treasurer. Correspondence was received from the Education Board notifying the appointment of pupil teachers, also that a tender had been accepted for the erection of a new room. The chairman reported that the site for the same had been agreed upon. The question of the supply of coal for the coming winter was mentioned, and it was resolved to heartily endorse the board’s proposed scheme of securing coal in bulk for distribution to the committee. The headmaster’s report showed the roll number to be 623, and the average attendance 585.
