FIRES.

OUTBREAK IN BISCUIT FACTORY. TH3 ATLAS WORKS. Shortly before 7 o'clock this morning a fire broke out at the Atlas Bison it Factory, in Dundas Street. The city fire brigade were quickly on the scene, ami made a good save, confining the fire to the chocolate room, where it originated. There was not a great deal of damage, only one machine being destroyed. Other machinery suffered slight damage, and a few racks and a small amount of stock were burnt. The building is of brick, and LrJt ou fire-proof plans, there being a concrete iloor and ceiling to each of the three storeys. It is thought that the fire originated in the cocoa-bean roasting plant. The stock and contents in the part of the building affected by the fire were insured for £IOUO in the State Insurance office.
