A Russian communique states:— Apart from an intense enemy bombardment in tbe region of Svcntsyany (in Vilna, south of Dvinsk), operations on the Western front are confined to the customary fusillading and patrol raids. Tarties of the enemy on different sectors attempted to approach our trenches under the while Hag, but our artillery dispersed them. An enemy attack in the Oitoz Valley, Rumania, was repulsed.
