SIR J. ALLEN'S STATEMENT. Press Association. WELLINGTON, May 8. In a statement made, to-day, Sir .lames Allen, Acting-Prime Minister, dweif on the need for certain economies. "We should economise in Ihe goods ;m.d produce we buy, especially coal, wheal,, oil, :\m\ paper," said Sir James. "We should be aide to produce enough coed and wheal. All should strive to engage in useful iitduslry. The call to all is to put aside everything for efficiency sake, and produce as much as possible."
