Geoffrey Howard Royds. clerk, 13G Straven Road, Christchurch, who was drawn in the seventh ballot, left New Zealand in November, lilio, for England, where he joined the Royal Flying Corps. He had then just attained bis 20th birthday. According to the latest advice received by his father (Mr J. 1. Royds, of Royds Bros, and Kirk, Ltd., Christchurch), Geoffrey Royds is still on active service in France. Nat. Woods, indent agent, Hereford Street, Christchurch, who has been drawn in the ballot, .stales that he should be in the Second Division, having been married for the last twelve years. He states that he wrote to the Government Statistician last February, on receiving notice of enrolment in the First Division, pointing out the error, but received no reply. Mr F. R. Corson writes as follows:—"I have received a telegram from Wellington, notifying that my son, L. F. Corson, has been drawn in this ballot. Evidently the authorities have not yet realised that my son entered Trentham early in April, 1916. After training, he was appointed 0.C., H Company, 17th Reinforcement, and subsequently transferred as 0.0., C Company, in the 21.15. Early in October he was granted sick leave, and for the past seven months has been, and still is, confined to bed with sickness contracted in camp. He was interviewed by the Medical Board about the end of February, and recommended for discharge. On March 1 the Camp Adjutant advised: 'Discharge certificate had been handed to Camp Paymaster, with instructions to forward same, together with pay due.' I may say neither of these has yet been received, although a reminder was sent a fortnight ago."
