SUMNER-REDCLIFFS.

The Sumner Send off and Reception Committee met last night, Mr J. B. Laurenson presiding. It was decided to farewell Messrs E. Stevens, C. White, S. White, C. Ferguson, A. Short, F. Chitty, W. Fenton, G. Sheet, and G. Stringfellow, on Wednesday evening next, in the Town Hall. Mr R. Piercy agreed to take clarge of the musical part of the programme. Arrangements were also made for a thorough canvass of the district for subscriptions. The offer of a committee of ladies to take charge of the supplying of refreshments was accepted with thanks. During the week the following games have been played on the Sumner Bowling Greeu: — Championship Singles. —W. S. Heyes defeated G. East, E. H. Johnson defeated G. East, Dr Gosset defeated G. East, T. Chambers defeated G. East, W. F. Raphael defeated J. S. Neville. Championship Doubles. —W. S. Heyes and .1. S. Neville defeated T. Chambers and Dr Gossett.
