SYDENHAM CLUB. The Sydenham Amateur Swimming • lull held it- 2.5 th annual meeting last night, Mr C. Kent presiding. Tho annual report, which was adopted, stated that the .lull had managed to keep its hea 1 well above water, and thi- in spite of the fact that :'.4 of its members ha<l none fo the war. The committee wished to impress upon member- the importance of securing boy- for the dull. Owing to the number ol inter-club swimmers awav rt the ; fron'. it had l.een deemed inadvisable j for the dull to hold its annual Interclub Carnival and flub Competitions, but the Canterbury Centre had held a j carnival in the club's baths, profits from j which were handed to the Patriotic | run.l. Several improvements had been , effected at the bath, the most important being the filling of the bath to the level of the sewer, thus making it possible to dispense with the assistance of J the Fire Brigade. The best thanks of the .lull were due to the president (Mr W. J. Cut nam i. the Mayor (Mr 11. Holland), and those who had assisted financially or otherwise. The chairman said it was gratifying to see such a report, considering the adverse conditions. A deputation had waited upon the Mayor to obtain funds for the renovation of the bath, and he had very generously assisted them, bo that the bath was now in good order. The balance sheet, which showed a debit balance of 5/9, was adopted, and a hearty vote of thanks passe.) to the treasurer (Mr \V. 11. Gill), for a handsome donation. Twenty one new members were elected, and one resignation was received. The following officers were elected:— Catron, .Mr G. T. Booth; president, Mr W. .1. Brunsden; vicecaptain, Mr F. Wade; hon. Mr P. Campbell hon. treasurer, Mr W. L. Gill; handicapper, Mr C. Kent timekeeper, Mr F. S. Hall; delegate to Sport" Protection Association, Mr P. Campbell; j delegates to Canterbury Centre, Messr» G. Reese andC. Kent; committee, Mess-» C. B. Bourne, L. S. Poison, R. Vernazoni, F. Matthews. J. Gasson, F. Ayling, S.
