AN EARLY DEATH.

" DISTRESSING FATALITY.. The death occurred last night at 11 b 'clock of Albert Victor Davies, a young man living with his parents at 38 Hawdon Street, Sydenham. Davies, who was 19 years of age, was a tinsmith by trade, having his workshop at the rear of the house in which he lived. He had himself made a lamp to burn acetylene gas for lighting purposes. Soon after 6.15 p.m. yesterday, something went wrong with the lamp, and a violent explosion occurred. A piece of piping struck Davies on the" head with such force that it penetrated the skull near tfee left temple, and a portion of it protruded from the base of the skull. Medical aid was immediately summoned, but Dr Anderson on arrival could hold out no hope of recovery.
