TOWN HALL SITE.

To the Editor of THE SUN. Sir,—l am in complete agreement with th¥ views expressed iri your leader last week, " that % Market Square is an unsuitable site for ■:& Town* A Town Hall, if possible, should have, a commanding position,- be iceritral, and easy of access. Unfortunately most of the best situations for one are now oc- ; cupied. The old Government buildings would.be an ideal site,, and.if these are not obtainable, the.land immediately fronting them would make an admirable one. I will'not enter into the question whether the time is ripe for, building a hall, but there can be no. doubt that it is unwise to delay finding a suitable vacant site. I hope whenever ft is built it will be second to none in this Dominion, and be, worthy of ..Christchurch and its beautiful surroundings.-r-. I am, etc., A CANTEEBTJRY MAN.
