ST. AMES SCHOOLED

DASHING EXHIBITION ADVENTURE AT SECOND HURDLE Last Saturday afternoon at Takanini. the Avondale candidate for hurdle honours, St. Ames, was sent over a couple of obstacles, which he negotiated in a dashing manner. The only mistake made was when he had too much pace on at the second and starting to slip into it he ducked round the wing. P. Mcllroy. who rode him. had very little difficulty in getting him over at the second attempt. The St. Amans gelding never hesitated and jumped it well.
