JURY DISAGREES AGAIN

BUS-DRIVER CHARGED WITH FATAL NEGLIGENCE TO BE TRIED AGAIN After more than four hours’ deliberation, the jury disagreed yesterday afternoon at the second trial of Noel Herbert Wilkinson, on a charge of negligent driving, causing death. The Crown Prosecutor, Mr. V. R. Meredith, applied for a new trial at the next session of the court, and Mr. Justice Herdman granted the request. Accused was released on bail as formerly. Wilkinson was the driver of the bus which collided with a train at the Hikuranga level crossing on the evening of April 5. Six bus passengers were killed, and four others seriously injured.
