STRANDED IN SYDNEY

HID ON ULIMAROA “I was stranded in Sydney, and I had to get back here somehow, or I would have been arrested for vagrancy,” explained Thomas Edward Donaldson, who admitted at the Police Court this morning that he had stowed away on the Ulimaroa on June 6. Sub-Inspector Shanahan said Donoldson, who was a labourer, aged 28, belonged to Auckland, but jumped the Ulimaroa, as he was hard up. When the vessel had left port, he reported to the chief officer. The fare was £6 10s. Donaldson had a list, but had not been before the court since 1924. He had said he was a married man. with a family in New Zealand. Donaldson was fined the amount of tli© fare, in default 14 days’ imprisonment.
