SIX NEW M.L.C.'S

NAMES ANNOUNCED ONE AUCKLAND MAN Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. His Excellency the GovernorGeneral has been pleased to appoint the following members of the Legislative Council: The Hon. David Buddo, of Christchurch; Mr. Mark Fagan, of Wellington; Mr. Richard McCallum, of Blenheim; Mr. Robert Masters, of Stratford; Mr. William Stevenson, of Invercargill; Mr, Jonathan Trevethick, of Auckland. Mr. Buddo represented Kaiapoi in the House of Representatives in 18931896, 1899-1919 and 1922-1928. He was also a Minister of the Crown in the Ward Ministry in 1906-1912. Mr. Fagan was for many years actively identified with the mining industry on the West Coast of the South Island and was prominent in labour circles.

Mr. McCallum represented Wairau in the House of Representatives in 1-11-191 D and is a well-known barrister and solicitor in Blenheim.

Mr. Masters represented Stratford in the House of Representatives in 1919-1925. He is chairman of the Transport Council and will act as chairman of the proposed railways commission. He is a well-known merchant at Stratford.

Mr. Stevenson is a well-known citizen of Invercargill and a retired business man. He has for many years identified himself with local affairs. Mr. Trevethick is a well-known citizen of Auckland. He has been a member of the City Council and is prominently associated with local public affairs.
