£3BO DAMAGES AWARDED

WOMAN INJURED BY CAR Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. Knocked down at Evans Bay on May 27. 1929, by a motor-car driven by Arthur Hurne, a tramway motorman, and receiving a fractured knee, Margaret McMillan, a former housemaid at the Empire Hotel, was awarded damages totalling £3BO by the Supreme Court. Mr. Justice Reed said he was satisfied that the accident was entirely due to the negligence of defendant and ' - gave ' judgment for plaintiff for £232 7s special damages and £l5O general damages, with costs.
