APPEAL DISMISSED

MOTOR-CYCLIST’S NEGLIGENCE Holding that the motor-cyclist’s negligence had been proved beyond reasonable doubt, Mr. Justice Ostler, in the Supreme Court yesterday afternoon, dismissed the appeal of Reginald Thomas Brown against his convictions by a magistrate for dangerous riding. Brown was fined £5 Is, and his licence cancelled for 12 months, as a result of his knocking down an old man, James McArerne, on the PaeroaThames Road on October 25 last year. The victim had to have one leg amputated.
