WELLINGTON CHALLENGES AUCKLAND ENGLISH TROPHY MATCH The New Zealand Council forwarded to the Auckland Football Association last evening a challenge from Wellington for the English trophy. August 16 was suggested by the control board for the match. The New Zealand Council wrote confirming the following arrangements regarding the Chatham Cup competition: July 39, local finalists to be found in Auckland, Wellington, Canterbury and Otago districts; August 2, Auckland Province winners v. “Wellington Province winners, at Auckland; August 16, Canterbury Province winners v. Otago Province winners, at Dunedin; September C, final in Wellington. The following transfers were approved: J. C. Russell, Technical Old Boys to Celtic; W. E. Rod well, Technical Old Boys to Xorthcote; C. Peterson, Ponsonby to Onehunga. A recommendation from the Junior Division Committee that entries be called from the second grade teams for the Dacre Cup competition was adopted, the closing date being fixed as June 17.
