LAND SETTLEMENT

LEAGUE’S SLOGAN APPROVED Appreciation of the “back to the land” slogan of the Land Settlement and Development League was conveyed to the league yesterday by a woman who attended a recent meeting at Wellington, in which an Auckland delegation took part. The Auckland representatives were Messrs. W. J. Holdsworth. R. Glover-Clark, M. G. McArthur and N. G. Gribble. The writer stated she was much impressed with the information given concerning land settlement, particularly that regarding land near Whangarei and Dargaville, and the prospects of marketing the produce. Mr. Holdsworth told members that keen interest was being manifested in the league’s principles. the public meetings being well attended and many inquiries were being made. Mr. D. Donaldson said that the publicity given to the league’s principles had been invaluable and suggested that the whole of the North Island should be covered later.
