MINING SCANDAL
MR. THEODORE MAY BE MIXED IN CRIMINAL ACTION MINERS’ ALLEGATIONS Reed. 10.30 a.m. BRISBANE, Today. As a result of discoveries by Crown law officers during their present visit to Chillagoe into mining affairs there, it was stated authoritatively that criminal prosecutions would follow. David Hughes, a miner, is alleged to have admitted that he gave an interest in his Flourspar claims to Mr. E. G. Theodore, ex-Premier, because he was relying on Mr. Theodore as Premier, and upon the influence he would wield, to dispose or the ore.
