TEN RACES

TAUMARUNUI’S BILL TWO RACES MAY BE DIVIDED With such heavy acceptances it was certain that two races at Taumarunui on Saturday would have to be divided. This has been done, division lists being drawn up in the Maiden Handicap and the Matapuna Hack, but the wording in the official card may be repeated: “Should it be necessary to run this race in divisions, the draw and numbers on the totalisator will be as follow . . . From this it is concluded that only if the actual number of starters exceeds the safety number will the two events named be run in divisions, with the totalisator opened only once for each race. The following is the draw for the divisions:—• MAIDEN HANDICAP Of £100; 6 furlongs (First Division)
