MANUREWA town board
Advice was received from the Auckland Hospital Board, at the meeting of the Manurewa Town Board last evening. that the board's contribution for the ensuing year was £543 15s lid. At the request of the Railway DePartment it was decided to transfer Portion of the metal reserve leased Rom the department, back to the railway authorities. This was necessary ‘•n account of the duplication of the railway track from Papatoetoe to Ifapakura. Advice was received from the Auckland Power Board and Telegraph Department, granting permission to erect waste-paper baskets on their posts. The chairman reported that when considering the estimates for the current year, it was found that only £I.OOO was available for current work. The roads and footpaths requiring attention would cost £ 1.500, and he recommended they should proceed with the work on the road, and repair the paths with metal dust. Air. Fawcett said that practically all of the footpaths were down to the clay formabon. and the work of rebuilding the Paths would cost £6OO. He recommended that the whole of Station Hill Road and Lupton Road be resurfaced with bitumen. The cost of resurfacing the whole of the footpaths in the town district was estimated at .1350. was decided that the paths of the be resurfaced with metal dust *o the best advantage. On the recommendation of the chairman it was decided to instal extra lights in Grand View Road. Russell Load. Weymouth Road, Claude Road, Massey Road, Mahia Road and Sturges Road.
