“ON WITH THE SHOW’’ The spectacular musical production. “On With the Show,” is continuing its season at tho St. James Theatre. The picture is a dual story of a musical comedy and the romance of the players in the comedy. Particular attention has been given throughout the entire filming to colour effect.*?. All costumes were specially designed. Care was taken to harmonise all colours. A new colour-photography process was used in making the picture, and the exact tones are reproduced. The scenes of the show were filmed on the stage with full musical accompaniment, while most of the dramatic action takes place behind the scenes. Many of the negro melodies were specially written for the production. The Harmony Negro Quartet sing the strange melodies with great effectiveness. ’ Particular attention was paid to procuring fascinating song numbers, and the help of several famous song-writers of America was enlisted Betty Compson. Arthur Lake. Sally O’Neil, Joe E. Brown. Louise Fazenda and Sam Hardy are in the cast.

Tho remainder of the programme 6t the St. James includes a number of entertaining short talkie items. There are one or two good comedy sketches, jazz items by Abe Lyman's Band, songs by Frank Crumit. items by the Newsboys’ Harmonica Band, and songs by Chief Caupolian. a Red Indian with a rich. full baritone voice.
