PROMISING PACER

Stowaway, making hts first appearance, showed himself the makings of a good three - year-old by winning the Kowai Trot Handicap at Amberley on Saturday, after a game tussle with seasoned Actor in the final stages. Stowaway is by Man-o'-War (one of the hardiest racehorses New Zealand lias known and winner of several good races, including the Auckland Cup and Free-for-AII at Ashburton), from a mare by Advance. He is owned by Mr. B. Lynskey, and trained by R. D. Allen, who drove him.
