MATAMATA FARMER'S’ UNION
The annual meeting of the Matamata branch of the Farmers’ Union was presided over by Mr. T. H. Prouse
The chairman reported that the provincial secretary had inaugurated a scheme.for presidents of the different local branches to meet periodically. At Rotorua the unemployed question had been discussed, and a scheme drawn up lot the sett'ement of idle lands. Officers were eected as follow: President, Mr. D. if Iliggins: vice-pre-sident. Mr. 11. Rollett: secretary and treasurer, Mr. .H. M. Gouk: auditor. Mr. J. W. Simpson: executive. Messrs. Bruce, Bush, Prouse, Sutherland. Price. Simpson. West, Seed, Were, I-’inlayson. Ryan, Wilson, and two representatives from I-linuera, if that district joins the local branch; delegate to Provincial Conference, Mr. £>. B Higginik _
