CHARGE GF ASSISTING BURGLARS INCIDENT AT NEW LYNN A youns man, Harold John Windsor. :stood trial In the Supremo Court this? afternoon on a charge of abetting and attempted burglary at New Lynn on February 3. Two other men who were involved pleaded guilty to the offence of breaking and entering and have been punished. Mr. Meredith prosecuted and Mr. Noble appeared for the accused. Robert Whittaker, a Now Lynn s-torekeeper, said lie found both doors of his premises had been tampered with during the night of February 3. Harold Mealing described how. on his way home, about 10.30 that night he saw a torch being Hashed on to the hack door of the store and noticed the figures of two men standing there. Another man was standing on the other side of the road. After sending lor the police, he saw the third man Hash his torch, and the two at the floor instantly extinguished their lights joined the third and all bolted together. ( Proceeding.)
