IN AND OUT OF GAOL

ELDERLY VAGRANT RETURNS FOR THREE MONTHS "He's always been in and out of gaol." remarked Sub-Inspector McCarthy when Alexander Mellis pleaded guilty at the Police Court this morning to a charge of being idle and disorderly, having insufficient lawful means of support. Mellis, described as a labourer, aged 66, was arrested by Constable Hughes at 5.15 this morning. He was said to have no money. Sentence of three months’ imprisonment was imposed.
