WASTE LAND EXPERIMENTS
TESTS NEAR WESTPORT Press Association WESTPORT, Sunday. Nearly 100 spectators attended a demonstration by officers of the Cawthron Institute yesterday on an experimental plot of “pakihi” land at Fairdown. The work done there was explained by Professor T. H. Easterfield. director of the institute. and by Mr. T. Rigg, assistant-director. This land, formerly considered unproductive. is now carrying a good growth of mixed grasses and flax. The results of the experiments are regarded as most promising.
